Preliminary Agenda
Opening Executive Panel
This opening executive discussion will explore the art of the possible, establishing a shared vision for how modernization could enable a more flexible, efficient, resilient, and scalable NAS while identifying the technical and operational challenges that must be addressed to realize that future.
Panel: From Automation Systems to an Automation Platform
This panel will explore the technical foundations of a common automation architecture, including shared services, common data models, standardized interfaces, modular applications, and integration across air traffic control and traffic management functions.
Panel: Evolving Surveillance for the Future NAS
This panel will examine the future role of ground-based radar, ADS-B, wide-area multilateration, space-based surveillance, surface surveillance, and emerging cooperative and non-cooperative sensing technologies.
Panel: From Traffic Management to Flow Intelligence
This panel will explore how advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, integrated weather and operational data, and trajectory-based operations could enable more accurate demand and capacity predictions, earlier identification of emerging constraints, and more effective management of traffic flows.
Panel: Dynamic Airspace on Demand
This panel will explore how dynamically configurable communications infrastructure, common automation services, integrated surveillance, and real-time operational information could enable flexible sector boundaries, adaptable controller responsibilities, and more efficient allocation of airspace resources.
Panel: The Controller's Operating Environment of 2035
This panel will explore how common automation platforms, artificial intelligence, advanced decision-support tools, and integrated operational information could reshape the controller's role and enable more effective management of increasingly complex airspace.
Panel: Designing a NAS That Recovers Faster
This panel will explore how resilient system architectures, redundant communications pathways, distributed services, automated failover, and intelligent infrastructure management could enable a NAS that maintains essential functions during failures, degrades gracefully, and recovers more quickly.
Panel: Democratization of Automation Systems
This panel will explore how open architectures, standardized application programming interfaces (APIs), common data services, software development kits, and representative development and testing environments could enable third-party developers to create and integrate applications without extensive modifications to underlying automation systems.
Panel: Accelerating Small Business Innovation: From Prototype to Operational NAS Capability
This panel will examine the technical, acquisition, and integration challenges small businesses face when introducing new capabilities into the NAS, including access to operational data, development and testing environments, system interfaces, cybersecurity requirements, safety assurance, and qualification processes.
Closing Executive Panel
This closing executive disucssion will examine the technical foundations, operational changes, acquisition strategies, and implementation priorities necessary to move promising capabilities from demonstration to operational deployment.
Speakers and Panelists will be listed at a later date.
